I would really like to do something in my spare time and since I can't get a real job (I am 13) I would like to do volunteering.

Am I too young?

I am in the UK by the way..if that helps

Thanks x

As you are simply wanting to volunteer, I don't think that there is any lower age limit. Good for you!

About 17 I think. Ask in your local shops. They might be able to work something out. Ask and find out is the best way to know.

I would think you could be doing it now.
This is very thoughtful ideal.

Minimum age
Many voluntary organisations give children volunteer work, provided they're covered by the organisation's insurance.
However, in order to protect children from being exploited, the law limits what children under school leaving age can do (you are under school leaving age until the last Friday in June of the school year in which you turn 16). For example, if you are under 14 then you are not allowed to work for a profit-making organisation (this is true whether or not you are paid).

Anybody is too young to help others! You can offer your spare time.. no profit company or charity associations are better! It's great and lovely..

Find some places you would like to be and ask them. Good luck to you, this is a good thing to do.

No, you're not too young. As long as you're good at math and making change (money) age doesn't mean a thing.

13 is a good age to start getting work experience. I wish you luck.

You can work for 3hrs,as long as you are not being paid.i was shock to read you wanted to work for a charity shop, what a credit you are to your parents, its nice to hear of somebody of your age who is willing to work/help others, and not being paid for it.most kids of your age are hanging in the shopping centres ,messing around and being a nuisance. all i can say is thank you for being so thought full. god bless. xxx

Charity shops are always asking for volunteers, but,I'd check the age limit first, may be 14,I believe that's the minimum age you can do paper rounds
