Yesterday in Maplins when I was taking something back. The (dare I say it) young man went out of his way to be helpful and did everything he could to resolve my problem.

The assistants in Waitrose are all trained to an excellent standard, I have never been told "it's over there", they always take you to the item you are enquiring about.

The other day it Tesco I asked if they had any croutons, I was told that they did sell them but they were not very nice and why didn't I make my own! This was from a boy of around 20 years of age.

Well there is a shop in London Holloway Road where the staff is always friendly and help full. Sometimes they are a bit slow, but as most of them have a disability there is at least a reason for this. I also find most staff in Waitross friendly.
But on the whole I so know what you mean.
