Absolutely. The last situation that was relative to this, I received coupons good toward free dinners. Granted, the complaint was justified.

Yes, I complained to a pizza place on my MySpace, that since I added them to my friends list they should have given me a free pizza. Lo and behold I got a free pizza out of it.

Yes. I don't "complain" though - what I do is I bring whatever it is and simply state it is "unacceptable" as it is, as a consumer I "expect" things a certain way, and they are not - it is totally "unacceptable". I am nice about it and it's proved to be the best approach.

Yes, it was a product I bought at the grocery store...they make another product that I LOVE, but this one wasn't good at all...so they sent me coupons for like 3 free bags of the gross product! uh, why?? did they not hear me say I didn't like it??

I complain about my cell phone bill all the time because they always find extra ways to add in secret fees and misc charges. I call all the time and complain and they credit me a couple dollars towards my account.
I try not to do that kind of stuff often unless its really justified, though. However, I'm sure some people do it all the time to get free stuff.
