I had a designer come round and measure my kitchen up. When the kitchen finally arrived I have pieces missing (which you can expect) and also a draw unit damaged on arrival. Not really a problem until I found out that the 'designer' measured my wall 30mm too long meaning my units wouldnt fit. My fridge had to be moved to under the sink because it was designed to fit where a water meter is which would mean the intergrated fridge stuck out 6" into the kitchen. My pot draws were not usable because they were designed to be put where my gas meter is. My joiner has had to move the wall units down otherwise a 3rd of them would have to be cut off because of an electric meter. Im still missing ends of cupboards and the replacement cupboard they sent was damaged during transit and my joiner had to put it in because he is not available until next month now. Im still without a working kitchen for nearly 2 months now and the designer has left. The manager has asked me to put my complaint in writing

at least a 50% discount minimum and any costs youve incurred making it right (ur joiners fees for one)
But 1st refuse to pay and see what they say...
ask for a new kitchen again as this is your right and what you contractually signed up for, they are not keeping to their side of the agreement
...they will be happy to give you a 50% discount to save doing another kitchen.

ask for new kitchen cause that sounds un acceptable, if you did not ruin cabinets resell them if they want them back they can remove them, or you should use a sledge hammer this is above and beyond asking for wages to r and r. Still ask for at least 50% because they will offer less and it will be most likely at cost make sure you get a lien waiver for materials even though they are wrong you could have a judgment on your home. Make sure you document all expenses and time , do not forget mileage and phone and planning time, you might end up in court

Insist on having a new kitchen. Their so-called designer has made every mistake in the book with yours and not only should they be totally replacing your kitchen free of charge but they should also be offering you a very generous discount as well. Didn't you see the proposed plan prior to signing up and didn't your joiner have a copy of it so that he too could accurately check the measurements ? You should be saying yes to both but my bet is that you have not had a copy or the store would be saying we gave you the opportunity of checking. Having had over 30 years in the kitchen industry if i give you some pointers on here use them to construct your letter. This is how our business operates.
Designer makes an appointment at the customers home, does the measure, checks for the following:
gas meters, stopcock, electric meter, water inlet, sockets - existing and where new could be placed, electrical load incase you want a range cooker or an induction hob, position for cooker hood and how practical it is for the flue extraction, light switches, what the existing floor is and what may be under it - damp?, window and ceiling heights. THEN the customer should be asked about the lay-out, the unit front finish, worktops, sinktop, mixer, waste disposal unit, internal storage, appliances - this is all lifestyle and presents the pretty picture but it is the previous part that is the most important otherwise you have the mess and heartache you are experiencing. The store should at the very least pay all of your installation charges for this and if the manager tries arguing with you make sure that you have already got the name of the group sales director and have also sent him/her a copy of your complaint. I know it is easy for someone to make a mistake but you seem to have most of the worst piled on you and quite frankly it is not tolerable. Be careful about bringing in a solicitor at this stage, trading standards or threatening them with rogue traders as this usually has the effect of stopping all communication and you will then have to go to law. Try the discussion first, tell the sales director you require a written action plan within 7 working days and if nothing is forthcoming then you need to see a solicitor and make Wickes aware that they will be paying that bill too.
If you don't have a solicitor find one with commercial law experience.

Ask for a complete new kitchen or 100% refund. If they start to haggle inform trading standards, as the kitchen ,which they measured and designed is not fit for the purpose it was intended.
