I have been shopping in Peterborough today. Thought Monday would be a quiet day to go. All the decorations are up in the shops and christmas songs are being played over the sound systems. The place was packed and I had to queue to pay in every shop I went in. It was hot and airless. I am a shop till I drop sort of person but today I gave up at 3.00pm, I went for a walk in the Catherdral grounds just to remind myself what Christmas should be about. What a fantastic place Peterborough Catherdral is. Does anyone actually like Christmas shopping ?
Princess. Better get out there quick
the rush has started already.
It gets earlier every year.
britt... I am totally in awe of you. Have you always been so organised.

I love to Christmas shop. But my husband and I always wait until just a week before Christmas. We make our list and then do all the shopping in one day - starting out early in the morning and keeping at it until we are done. We also include a nice dinner in the mix, along with a snack halfway through the day. It's fun!

I love it and because of the scenery and such. I use tow ork in the mall and I would love to start decorating and seeing the whole mall with decorations the only thing I hated was when the dumb little cars in front of our stores would go off those things are so loud and with the mall being so crowded they would always have kids on it oh and the parking during holiday season I would have someone drop me off and pick me up or I would never find a spot.

Not me, that's for sure! I would like it if I had endless money to spend, everyone else went home while I did it, and two or three strong men to carry everything. Until then, it stays a no!

No. I try and leave it until the second last day. The dollar store prices usually lower.

I do most of mine online nowadays. You can choose from endless lists and get exactly what you want.

I started mine last weekend. Throughout the year I put aside money for Xmas shopping and then try to get it all done by the end of November to miss the worst of the rushing about in the shops (I hate the crowds!). Also, most of my family live elsewhere, so I have to get everyone's presents ready well in advance so i can get the gifts to them in time.

I actually hate Xmas shopping.

I haven't really been Christmas shopping yet, I've only looked in some catalogs, stores, etc, at some things that I might get. I hate the crowded hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping....I'm going to try and get mine done a little earlier this year, so I won't be stuck with last minute items.

I start my Christmas shopping each January, when most stores slash prices and I can get great deals. I have had most of it done since July. I am completely finished with all shopping except for my father and my father-in-law, and I already know that my husband and I are buying them both digital photo frames when we find a good price.

I have 3 sisters, 2 sisters-in-law, and mom and mom-in-law and lots of girlfriends to buy for, so I shop January to July for them. Most Semi-Annual sales are in those two months... Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Yankee Candle Company... all favorites of the women I know and shop for.

I also shop at the party stores early in the year for out-of-season stuff... last year I got $120 worth of cards, bags, bows, platters, etc. for $23. I found 3 rolls of cute, sturdy wrapping paper at Old Navy for $1.25 for all 3, originally $8.50.

All in all, I have saved 50-80% on nearly all of the gifts we are giving this year. I plan on doing the same thing next year and every year after. You never know when you will find the perfect gift for someone.
