I always find that it's fun and get right into the spirit on Christmas Eve (unlike when they have the ads on in September....

What are your views ?

I like Christmas shopping in December with the carols playing and all that because it gets me in the Christmas spirit...because I'm a cheese ball..
I'm probably going to be doing most of my shopping online this year though. It makes me a little sad.

You probably won't like this answer, but we have given up Christmas altogether. No presents, no tree, no cards, no debt, no worries ... All we do as a family is eat together. The pressure to buy more and do more seems to be increasing, so we have just taken a step back and now we don't bother.

I love the idea but i am never brave enough to wait until then .The first reason is because I might not be able to get what i want and the second because of the crowds. They are a nightmare.

actually yes. I have gone shopping on christmas eve every year since I was about 7 years old....(I am now 33 and expect to do it again this year).
It has been a tradition with my dad since then. My mother at the time was a nurse in a hospital and frequently had to work that day. So on Christmas Eve morning my dad and I would go out to breakfast and then hit the stores and spend the day together. He usually has some last minute shopping to do (ever the procrastinator) and I'm always done with my shopping. But I absolutly love it. In fact last year, when I woke up on Christmas Eve morning I discovered I had caught a bad cold...I was getting progressively worse as the day went on but I look forward to that day so much that I pushed on through.....unfortunatly I had to for-go going to the families house that evening and going to church because I just felt horrible after that.....but I love our tradition. I don't mind fighting with the crowds that day because after all....Its Christmas.

I try to avoid having to shop on Christmas Eve, but I kind of enjoy the extra pressure if I have to do it - sort of a "thrill of the hunt" thing, I guess.

No I don't,I actually tried this one year a while ago and it was miserable experience, everyone said oh,you get such and such bargains! I would never do it again,if I am out now its because I ran out of butter baking or batteries for some toy I forgot.Merry Christmas!

I used to go shopping every Christmas eve. It was a little tradition. I havent been able to do it these past 3 years, but am hoping to go again this year. Of course i dont do all my shopping, i just pick up a few things. To me, its a lot of fun. I'm sure some people probably hate it, or wouldnt even imagine doing it...

I did this one year and vowed never to do it again. Of course at that time I did not have a car and had to use the bus to get around. Try getting off a bus carrying 12 large shopping bags.

I don't shop on Christmas Eve instead I make some mince pies and Watch Festive DVD's and go to Christmas Eve Vigil Mass and then come back and wind-down and look forward to Christmas Day. I love the peace of christmas day as nothing really happens, Shops are Closed and all thats on the roads is people visiting families and friends..

I just wish the shops would close more often other than Christmas Day and Easter Day. In New Zealand and in Canada shops have to closed for 5 National Holidays a year as well on top of Easter Sunday. Why can't Britain have an Extra 3 Non-trade days.

I wish that Sunday would become a non-trade day once more. because shops make enough money in the 6 Days as it is. I say let Shop Workers chill out more. I always spare a thought for Shop Workers who are working Boxing Day and New Years Day and on Sundays would wish that they would be encouraged say no to Sunday Trade. Give them their Sunday Rest Goverment of Britain.
