I have been to NY twice now. Found best place to go is Jersey Gardens. You can catch a bus (coach) from the Port Authority (bus station). It takes you straight to the shopping centre and you can catch a bus straight back. It's very easy. Takes about 40 minutes is very cheap and there is no tax to pay on goods (this is a large shopping complex). The Port Authority has a whole range of leaflets for shopping and it's very simple. There is also a place called Woodbury Common which is full of designer shops that are cheaper than NY itself (chanel, Hugo boss etc.) you can also get the bus from Port Authority. On arrival at Woodbury Common go to the Information Centre and you get a booklet full of discount vouchers

However, if you want to stay in NY try Century 21 (right by ground zero). Easy to get to and very cheap designer/non designer gear, far cheaper than Macy's. New York at Xmas is amazing you'll have to go up to Central Park, they have an ice skating rink and it's fabulous.

Have a great time.
