I won't have the money to start buying Xmas presents until 17th December. My partner gets paid on 30th November but we have too many bills etc plus my son's birthday! So we'll have to wait for his next pay packet on 17th before we start Xmas shopping!
I want to get my son, who's about to turn 1, a "Talking IgglePiggle" (from "The Night Garden"!) but I have a horrible feeling its going to be one of those things thats sold out by the first week in December!!!
Anyone else having to leave their Xmas shopping late? How do you get around the "everyone's already done theirs and its all sold out" factor?

i always shop late. i wouldn't worry if you can't get what you're after for xmas day. you're son won't be bothered at that age. he'll be happy with anything. just get it as soon as you can after. maybe he'll get money from other people that you can spend when they're available.
edit: i've just looked on ebay, there are loads of em (4 pages), i'm sure they'll still be there for a few weeks.

Christmas is for children, the most important thing is they have presents. I wouldn't worry too much about the adults.
I went to the dollar store to get many of their gifts: pocket calendars, wall calendars, a Christmas mug, kitchen towels, etc.
Don't forget your handcrafts and baking talents, fill a jar with a spice tea mix or a cocoa mix and attach the recipe with a pretty ribbon. Look at gift items in the store (you know the expensive ones) and make your own.
