The Health & Safety brigade have put the blockers on Christmas in our area. Apparently it has been deemed dangerous to have Fairy Lights put up by Council workers and they have introduced a new Insurance that most Councils will not pay for and that means that the Lights will not be on show this year. Not that we'll miss much anyway coz the Lights weren't that good anyway lol. We hope the town Christmas tree is better this year than last year....if there is one that is.....coz last year it was a very bedraggled looking tree.

Yes, and ooh what a surprise - I recognise them from last Christmas. And the Christmas before. And the one before that. I'm sure these tinsel reindeer have far outlived the usual lifespan of a reindeer, it's unnatural.

Not yet. Where I live, a couple stores in the mall are starting to get their Christmas merchandise in but no one is decorated for Christmas yet.

Xmas is truelly a ladies thing... "they are really nice"... for christ sake get a life... don't you realise that it's the super markets that are running our lives... they have studied ways in getting into our sub-concious and we go along with it like lambs to the slaughter.

At my house we are going to have an old fashioned Christmas this year. We're going to cut down our own tree and use ornaments that we've used in previous years. The focus is NOT going to be on the commercial aspects of the holiday. People go into unnecessary debt and why....because we've been conditioned to believe that we need to spend $$$$$ on Christmas to have a happy holiday. Well I say that's crap. When I see these greedy merchants with their Christmas stuff up the day after Halloween it really ticks me off.

The mall itself has not put the decorations up yet, but the individual departments stores have some decorations up.
