Aha.
Got this nailed now.
Do it online and book your delivery slot for Monday PM.
Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Sainsburys, etc all have inline shopping now.
Its perfect because
a) you do not have to fight people in the shops
b) you do not have to store it for ages
c) it gets delivered to your door, so no traffic!
d) its all picked just before it gets delivered
Win win in my book.
The only risk is that something is out of stock. Then you're knackered. But booking early enough you should be OK.

I do mine online with Ocado. Brilliant food and service. It all just arrives at my door. No stress no hassle. Just open and eat. Yum.

I wouldnt do it on the weekend- maybe a tuesday or wednesday but to be honest, its going to be jam packed whenever you go. Dont go mad, only buy what you need.
Last year we went mad, and couldnt fit the food in the cupboards.

Last year I did it around 3 in the morning at asda. I was shocked at how many people had the same idea. And I was also shocked by a very rude cashier that I heard slagging us off for daring to do a big shop so late at night. She obvious fancied an easy night.

Though I'd be really clever last year and went 7am on Christmas eve ha ha ha , there weren't even any trolleys left. Think we might go to Asda this year and go about 2am saturday morning.
