They've stopped making the 60GB so stocks of those are running out. If you look around you will probably still be able to find one but a lot of people want the 60GB for it's extra features so you will have to move fast.

The PS3 has increased dramatically in sales but believe it or not you easily purchase one at your local retailer without much hassle. That includes Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Gamestop, EB Games, etc.

Hey Julie, well Im not sure if u know but the 60gb has been stopped in production and after all the shops sell the 60gb, you will not be able to buy one and only the 40gb. Because they have stopped making them, the demand has gone up for them more because of its backwards compatibility, multi-card reader and 4 usb ports, which is 2 more than 40gb.
The 40gb cannot play ps2 games and doesnt have a multi-card reader, but it is good for people who want a ps3 at a good price.
Anyways start at Ebay they will always have some and check into your local stores Gamestation they just had some at mine. But be quick as they sell quick.
If you want to play ps2 games get the 40gb. Hope this helps and enjoy your christmas with your new ps3.
