All of this could have been avoided if you had simply bought a new charger without going to a "repair shop".

You indicated that you had had this trouble before (a broken charger). Why didn't you just buy a new charger like you did the first time? Why, why, why?

Now you have to go through all the trouble of getting a lawyer, filing a lawsuit, and waiting for whatever outcome awaits your case.

It doesn't seem that you live in the U.S. because you use terms like "he rang today". Perhaps things in whatever country you live in are different. Here in the U.S. you would be facing an uphill battle because you'd need to prove your accusations.

Also, this nonsense about the repair shop worker not "letting" you try a new charger instead of repairing the motherboard is bogus. If this had been my laptop, I'd insist on the repair shop worker trying a new charger before authorizing further work. After all, it would be MY laptop. You should have done the same. You should have told the repair shop worker that you demand that he try a new charger first. After all, it's YOUR laptop.

If everything that you say is true, and there was nothing wrong with the laptop other than a charger issue, it sounds like the repair shop worker needs a good old fashioned butt-whipping. Hire a couple of wranglers to go and beat the tar out of him.

Unfortunateley their is little you can do about it, just learn from your bad experiences and be a little wise next time. Sorry about your loss you could however take it up with the police and they may put you onto some one that can help you mate. Good luck.
