The ONLY dogs allowed into enclosed public places are Service Dogs; Guide Dogs; Police Dogs; Search Dogs etc.

Any historical statues have been overridden by more recent health and hygiene laws.

No. They don't have any superiority over any other dog breed or mutt, .....which of course means that if a store says no dogs allowed, that includes the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

The only dogs that are allowed to go in public places are service dogs, seeing eye dogs and etc.

hi there,

The royal name, 'King Charles Spaniel' was bestowed during the reign of King Charles II, who was so fond of his spaniels he could not be parted from them. He made a decree that King Charles Spaniels must be allowed in any public place, including the House of Parliament. This decree is still in the law books today.

So in answer to your question, these days people wouldnt really pay attention to little laws like these, so they most probably will get refused entry. But legally they have to be allowed.

hope this helped.

this is the website

King Charles, no. Cavalier King Charles, Yes. They are two different breeds.

It is illegal in the UK to refuse a Cavalier entry to any place, however if you did take one into a shop or other place, this law wouldnt really hold up in court so it isnt worth trying!

Despite what I can only assume are a lot of answers from people outside the U.K. it IS THE LAW in the U.K. that a KCS cannot be refused entry to any PUBLIC place although in these days, I doubt if that sweet little law would have much notice taken of it - mainly due to such rubbish as the Health & Safety/Politically Correct brigades ! ! !

Its Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

It was some law that King Charles made hundreds of years ago. Sadly I don't think it applies anymore
