Or is there not a best time?
I was thinking when its quieter there will be less bids, so get things cheaper!

no
you've best waiting till a minute before the end of bid and I think the peak time for people putting up bids is about 9pm
so I suppose the best time is 9pm

i don't think there is a best time. It all depends on what time the auction finishes. I tend to bid last minute and put in my maximum bid. I have had some great bargains.

There's no best time to shop on eBay. Put an item in your watch list and wait till the last minute then bid. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

the daytime might be the best time because there is hardly no one about every one is at work. if you bid on the nightime there are less items for sale at night because sellers list them in the day so they end in the daytime.

Ebay is open 24/7 so really anytime is good. But remember either get auctionsniper software and win any auction or wait till the last 20 seconds, never buy from someone who has made their feedback private. Never enter an auction war, never watch an item and don't kiss anyone with garlic breath....Nooo that was kidding!

depends on what your bidding for and when there ending when its near the last 5mins it might get a bit mad depending on what your bidding and how popular it is

Hiya,i buy & sell on ebay & people tend to buy a lot at weekends as its their days off,& a lot of new items are listed for the weekend, but if i wanted a certain item i always wait until i get it at a price i would pay for it as the same item would always be listed,so i ALWAYS get what i want at the price i want to pay for it...good luck

Trust me there is no best time - I have tried them all.
Your best bet is to wait until the last minute of the auction and then put your bid in and hopefully there wont be enough time for anyone to come in with a higher bid.
Good Luck

I don't know where you are, but I'm in AR and the best time here is EARLY a.m and early evening. (around 9 pm or from 4am to 6am)

It depends on the item. 80% of bids are placed in the last 2 hours of an auction. I use a bid sniping program (see link below). I just set my max bid and it places my bid at the last seconds of the auction. It even syncs your computers clock with ebay's time. It has saved me lots of money.
