Is it true that if you bet on Red, for example, everytime, it would eventualy realise it was not winning money from you, and then throw in a few greens?

It's a computer after all, and must follow a program.

So, and sorry to go on about this, by betting £1 on all 3 colours, but raising the stake on green by £1 every 10 spins, you should win more than you bet.

Also, when you do win on green, you go back to £1 on each colour, not keep increasing your bet on green, and start again.

You are not doubling your bet each time, simply increasing your money on green each 10 spins by £1.

So, if the limit is say £100 on any colour, you have a 1000 chances for it to happen.

At 35 to 1

or 36 or 37 to one depending on the game.

Would this generate a profit if you stuck to the rules?

I have wondered whether they are *really* random myself, I have had about two reasonable wins, but been raped severely a *lot* of times by those machines. It seems to me I am less likely to walk away with money from the bookies playing roulette than I am in a casino.

I wouldn't touch those machines mate. Ladbrokes are making more profit from them now than anything else.

I strongly suspect that isn't the case. Those machines are not like Fruit Machines where they lure you in then wipe you out when you get to a high position on the winnings board.

YES - they are making lots of money; but that's because they have a captive audience in their betting shops who are willing and in the mood to gamble!

They work using a complex algorithm that ensures they are completely random. The odds are already in Laddies favour, so there would be no point them trying to fix anything in case people caught onto it and took advantage.

Imagine the uproar and damage to reputation there would be if a large bookmaker such as Laddies was found to be cheating?!?

They are also independantly audited by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (I think).
