ive been saving my piccies onto disc and deleting ones i no longe want but for some unknown reason i can view all my piccies but when i click into individaul piccies or try to view as slide show it says picture error pictiure not there help please

I don't use photo shop album starter, but I do use a lot of Adobe products and usually they keep a thumbnail or preview of the actual image within the program's database. This would cause the problem you describe.
So when you want to delete the file, try right clicking it in photostarter and see if there is an option to delete the original from disk AND remove it from photostarter.
Otherwise do a search of the help systems for removing images from photostarter and deleting files.
