Not really, think of the costs involved in trying to catch all that squid, and then you've got the hassle of changing squid into money.

Not really.
It will either be a cheapo "own brand" set or a well known brand with a dodgy pedegree.
The trouble with the supermarket own-brand types (such as Tesco's Technica) is that they're cheaply made from cheap components.
You will have a poor lateral angle of view from the screen. This means that the further off centre-line the viewer is, the grottier the picture looks.
You will have a poor contrast ratio. This means that the difference between the blacks and non-blacks is low.
Your colour hues will be somewhat less than perfect.
About 70% of these sets have their on-set tuning buttons disabled when you're in Freeview mode. This means that you can only control the set with the remote. Not very good if your remote is missing or broken.
Does it have a built in digital tuner (freeview)? If it doesn't then it'll be obsolescent when your region succumbs to the digital switchover and you'll be messing around with external freeview boxes (using up a SCART socket in the process).
They're not solidly built and can fail soon after their guarantee expires.
You will need a goodly supply of SCART sockets as well as the HDMI input so that you can still connect your DVD and VCR.
If you compare the picture and specifications of a £160 19" set with that of a £200 Sanyo or Sony or Philips etc. then you will see that the best thing to do would be to save the extra 40 quid then buy a good telly.
